Despite the Chicago Bulls’ trade of Jimmy Butler on draft night, Dwyane Wade will stand by his decision to exercise his player option worth $23.8 million, sources tell Vincent Goodwill.
Wade signed a two-year deal with the Bulls last offseason in a surprising decision to part ways with the Miami Heat after 13 seasons.
Wade averaged 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 29.9 minutes per game in 60 appearances for Chicago.
Wade was almost certain to be unable to make up that money even over several seasons on the open market.
